Alternatively you can cut 4 to 5 onions into small pieces and add these to 2 liters of water, keep them to boil and let them boil for at least 15 minutes. Indian gooseberry, shikakai and soap nut provide another one of the oldest home remedies for hair growth. Take these herbs in 100 gram quantity each, add them to 2 liter of water and let them soak overnight. In the morning boil the mixture till volume is reduced to half. Let the mixture cool down, when it is cool mash the pulp of herbs within water and remove seeds of soap nut. Now wet your hair and apply this mixture evenly over hair so that it flows down onto your scalp. Let it stay for 30 minutes and later wash off with plain water. This is one of the best and oldest home remedies for hair growth.

Fenugreek provides couple of trusted home remedies for hair growth. Take two tablespoons of fenugreek seeds and soak them with a liter of water, let the mixture sit overnight and in the morning strain the mixture and discard the seeds. Collect the water and use it to rinse your hair and scalp. Let the water dry out and wait for 2 to 3 hours. Wash off with plain water later, on regular use this will enhance hair growth and make hair healthy and shiny.


You can use fenugreek in one more way, take a teaspoon of fenugreek seeds and grind them to form a paste. Add these to one-fourth cup of coconut milk and stir to gain a smooth paste. Apply this paste over your hair and scalp and let it stay for half an hour. Wash off with mild shampoo and water later. This way too fenugreek works as potent home remedies for hair growth.

Take few potatoes, 3 to 4 in number and grate to extract their juice out, add one egg’s yolk to the juice and a tablespoon of honey. Apply this paste over hair and scalp like a mask and let it stay for 30 minutes. Blend an ounce of castor oil with any vegetable oil to gain a mixture with smooth consistency, now add few drops of rosemary essential oil to the mixture and mix all the ingredients well. Simple massages with olive or coconut oil are also excellent home remedies for hair growth. Rub scalp gently with fingers and when entire scalp is covered apply oil over hair. Let the oil stay and cover your head with a towel soaked in warm water. Wring the excess water out of towel so that water does not flow over your head.
