Saline water is one of the best home remedies for thrush which you can practice regularly even to prevent it from occurring. Mix a teaspoon of salt to a cup of warm water and use it two-three times to gargle and rinse your mouth thoroughly everyday. This will keep harmful fungi and bacteria present in mouth from breeding and will curb active ones to treat the problem.
Mix two tablespoons of apple cider vinegar to a cup of warm water. Rinse your mouth thoroughly two times in a day to cure thrush. This is another one of the simple and effective home remedies for thrush. You can use undiluted apple cider vinegar as well, just take two teaspoons of it and swish it around your mouth for two to three minutes, later spit it out and rinse your mouth with plain water. Both ways it provides useful remedies.
Apply honey over blisters present on tongue and mucous membrane with the help of a cotton ball. You can also use honey by mixing a tablespoon of it in half cup of water. Keep this mixture in your mouth for two-three minutes and spit it out, let the residue mixture stay but do not swallow. After 5 to 10 minutes, rinse the mouth with plain water. On regular use this also works as one of the best methods for thrush.
Take two garlic cloves and chew them, let the juice stay, swish the juice all over your mouth, the juice may sting a bit but it works very well for curbing the infection and curing painful blisters. Garlic has properties which work very well against 30 different types of bacteria and fungi. Baking soda also provides one of the useful home remedies for thrush. Take some baking soda and add few drops of water to make a paste. Brush your teeth and apply this paste with finger over your blisters. Wash your finger with soap. Rinse your mouth thoroughly with warm water first and then a tablespoon of hydrogen peroxide 3%. Take 10 to 12 holy basil leaves; add these to a one and half cup of water and keep the mixture to boil. Let the mixture boil for few minutes or till only one cup of mixture remains. Let it become bearably warm and rinse your mouth with this mixture thoroughly.
Take two teaspoons of common salt and add few drops of mustard oil, rub your teeth and areas having blisters with this mixture and rinse with plain water. You can practice this remedy when you are not suffering with infection to prevent it. Brush your teeth later with your regular paste after half an hour. Take a teaspoon of pure coconut oil, let it sit and melt in your mouth, swish it all over your mouth and particularly over blisters and later rinse it off with plain water. Brush your teeth with your usual toothpaste half an hour later. Chew on an onion, keep the juice in your mouth for 20 to 30 minutes and later rinse off with plain water.
Take care of your oral hygiene very well. If you are using any artificial dentures then make sure that your mouth is free of decaying food or other substances. Rinse your mouth after consuming tea or coffee, these drinks stay in mouth for longer period and can change the acid alkaline balance to promote fungal growth. Eat fruits and foods which support immune system, citrus fruits and leafy vegetables are the best bet. Eat a cup of yogurt regularly and add a teaspoon of black pepper to it. This will keep harmful bacteria and fungi from growing effectively.
