Fever is a condition which is characterized by high body temperature above 98º Fahrenheit; it also accompanies mild body ache, headache, and heaviness in head and strange taste in mouth. Taking a cold water sponge is also recommended as effective way to curb fever due to heat stroke and Sun stroke during summers.
If you have flu, cough or cold and fever it is mostly due to viral infection. Add 10 to 12 Holy basil leaves to a cup of water. Add an inch long piece of crushed ginger, half teaspoon of black pepper and two cloves. Boil the mixture for few minutes you can also add a teaspoon of regular tea to the mixture. Let the mixture cool down, strain and drink when it is warm. You can also add a teaspoon of honey to improve its taste. This is one of the oldest home remedies for fever due to viral infections and repeat after 4 to 6 hours till fever subsides.
Extract a teaspoon of ginger juice, add half teaspoon of black pepper powder and a teaspoon of honey, consume this mixture two-three times in a day to break cough and cold, and calm down fever and body ache. This is one of the best practiced home remedies for fever.
Take 10 grams of raisins and 10 grams of fresh ginger, add these to 200 ml of water and keep the mixture to boil. Let the mixture boil till it gets reduced to one-fourth of its original quantity. Later strain and drink when it is warm. Repeat again after 6 hours if fever continues. It is one of the trusted home remedies for fever.
Take 2 to 3 teaspoons of fenugreek seeds and add to a cup of water, boil this mixture on a low flame for few minutes and later strain and drink when it is warm. Drink few cups of this tea during the day to calm down fever. Take 10 to 12 Holy basil leaves and add them to a glass of water, let the mixture boil for few minutes and later cover the utensil with a lid and let it steep. When it is warm take a cup of water and drink, later heat the mixture to make it warm again and drink after an hour, continue till water lasts this is one of the best home remedies for fever due to bacterial, viral or fungal infections.
Another one of the old home remedies for fever is provided by potato and vinegar, peel a potato and cut few slices of it, soak these slices in any vinegar and let them sit for an hour. Later take these slices out and put over your forehead and wrap with a cloth. After 20 minutes fever will start coming down.
Take a tablespoon of olive oil and add two crushed bulbs of garlic and boil the mixture. Let the oil cool down, when it is warm, apply under the feet over sole of both legs, cover with a cloth and let it stay overnight. Olive oil and garlic together work as potent home remedies for fever.
Take half teaspoon of saffron flakes, add these to a cup of water and boil the mixture for few minutes. Let it cool down and consume one teaspoon of the mixture after every one hour till fever subsides. This is one of the best home remedies for fever. But avoid this in case of Sun stroke, heat stroke and during summer season as saffron has hot potency.
Drinking a cup of chamomile tea in the night or few cups of peppermint tea helps in calming fever and also aches and heaviness associated with it. Keep drinking water on regular basis and drink at least 10 to 12 glasses in a day.
