Other than these, unhealthy lifestyle which includes excessive alcohol intake, smoking, tobacco and drug use; watching too much TV, working late in the night, reading or writing persistently in poor light, work on computers etc., poor diet lacking in complete nutrition or too much intake of junk, processed and fatty food; poor care of eyes and lack of proper rest and sleep are few other causes of weak eyesight. Carrots are boon for improving vision and preventing ill-effects of stressors. You can consume two-three carrots everyday with meals or between meals. You can also extract a glass of carrot juice, add few leaves of spinach while blending carrots to improve nutrition, and consume. Or you can extract 300 ml of carrot juice and mix 200 ml of spinach juice to it and drink this mixture through the day on regular basis to have sharper and better vision. In any way, carrots work as highly effective home remedies for weak eyesight.

Indian gooseberry is rich source of vitamin C which is active and powerful antioxidant. Eyes have very thin blood vessels and due to ill-effects of stressors these get blocked and blood flow reduces to deplete vision. Take a teaspoon of Indian gooseberry powder, add a teaspoon of honey and consume twice in a day. This is also one of the best home remedies for weak eyesight.

Take aniseeds, coriander seeds and sugar candy, grind them separately to form a powder. Add one part of aniseed powder and one part of coriander seed powder with two parts of sugar candy powder. Mix them well and store. Take 12 grams of this mixture everyday once in the morning on an empty stomach and once in the night with plain water. This is another one of the tremendous home remedies for weak eyesight.


Prepare a glass of milk at least couple of hours before going to bed. Ground two pieces of cardamom to form a powder, add these to a glass of hot milk and let the milk stand. When you are ready to sleep, stir the milk and drink. This is one of the best home remedies for weak eyesight.

Take 7 pieces of almonds and two teaspoons of fennel seeds, add one teaspoon of sugar candy to these and grind the entire mixture to form a powder. Add one teaspoon of this mixture to a glass of warm milk, stir well and drink before bedtime. On regular basis, this is one of the wonderful home remedies for weak eyesight.

Take half teaspoon of licorice powder and mix it with one teaspoon of honey. Boil a cup of milk and heat a teaspoon of clarified butter, add butter to the cup of milk, now add honey and licorice mixture to the milk as well, stir to mix all the ingredients completely and consume before bedtime regularly for three months. This is also one of the best home remedies for weak eyesight.


Triphala powder is available at grocery stores or at any ayurvedic medicine store. Add a tablespoon of this powder to cup of plain water. Let the mixture stand for 30 minutes, later wash the eyes thoroughly with the mixture it, works as wonderful home remedies for treating and preventing cataract.

Chew one teaspoon of aniseeds in the morning and before going to bed to keep eyes fresh and healthy. Mix few leaves of marigold with a cup of water, let the mixture stand for 30 minutes, strain and discard leaves and use water as eyewash. Avoid excessive strain on eyes, if you need to work on computers on regular basis put an anti-glare screen or take a break of five minutes after every two hours. Wash your eyes regularly with cold water, you can cover your eyes with warm towel to relax and refresh eyes and release entire day’s stress. Avoid alcohol, smoking, tobacco and take proper care of your dentures as all of these harm vision by deteriorating eye functions.
