Now soak a towel in hot water and wring the excess water out, make sure that towel is not too hot, you can add plain water if towel is too hot to make it bearably warm. Wrap or cover the area with warm towel for few minutes. Garlic provides few effective home remedies for sciatica. Just chew two garlic cloves and also consume vitamin B1 and vitamin B-complex supplements regularly once in a day. These work as potent home remedies for sciatica. You can also add two crushed cloves of garlic to a cup of warm milk. Boil this for few minutes and later allow it to cool down a bit, strain and consume after discarding garlic. Repeat this for few days till symptoms subside. If you have ulcer avoid consuming garlic, you can prepare its oil by boiling 10 cloves of garlic in 50 ml of any vegetable oil. Boil till cloves become brown, later allow it to cool down, strain, discard garlic and store the oil. Take some horseradish and grind them to form a paste. Wrap this paste in a clean cloth and apply this poultice over affected part. Lie down on the floor with your feet on the wall with legs bent and knees forming a 90° angle. Watch out for your sitting posture, bed and working chair. Sit straight, walk at least 2000 paces everyday and do not twist, turn or put sudden pressure on your back. Do not sit for long hours straight, get up and take a mild walk or stand for few minutes after every one or two hours.
